Senior Apartments
• You must be age 60 or above to be eligible for residency at Atherton Place.
   (Only one person in a married couple must be 60 or older.)
• Persons from any geographical area, religious affiliation, or racial or ethnic
   background may apply.
• You must be able to live independently. (Specific criteria are listed in the
   Atherton Place policies.)
• You must be financially responsible.

Residents living in the apartments manage their “activities of daily living” with little support from family or friends. These activities include handling personal business matters, scheduling medical appointments, doing light cooking, coordinating grocery shopping, and managing laundry needs. Many residents drive their own cars and are involved in the Marietta community.

Assisted Living
• You must be age 60 or above to be eligible for residency at Atherton Place.
   (Only one person in a married couple must be 60 or older.)
• Persons from any geographical area, religious affiliation, or racial or ethnic
   background may apply.
• You must be able to live independently with supportive services.
• You must be financially responsible.

Assisted Living residents achieve a greater level of independence with the support and assistance of the Atherton Place staff. Residents like relying on staff rather than calling upon family for every need. Staff members help residents schedule their medical appointments and coordinate their transportation with the Atherton driver. They help with laundry tasks, assist with bathing and grooming, and assist the residents with their medications. Assisted Living residents also are served three meals a day. All services provided are delivered in accordance with the state of Georgia guidelines for Assisted Living. All residents must be able to respond to safety procedures and emergency situations.
